(VOVworld) – Implementing the Government’s strategy on developing new rural areas, many agricultural development projects have been undertaken to boost local socio-economy. In our Vietnam’s New Rural Landscape segment today, we’ll shed light on outcomes of the cooperation program between the State, businesses, and farmers in Ninh Thuan province.

(VOVworld) – 50 years ago, Dai Phong cooperative in Phong Thuy commune, Quang Binh province was famous for being a leading model cooperative in the north. The cooperative twice received President Ho Chi Minh’s letters of congratulation. At present, the cooperative remains a vanguard in agricultural production and new rural development in Quang Binh province in particular and the nation in general.

(VOVworld) – With the motto “mobilizing local resources and people’s labor to serve the people”, the pilot program on building new rural areas in 6 communes in Ho Chi Minh city has fundamentally fulfilled criteria set by the National Steering Board on building new rural areas. The results have enhanced people’s trust and consensus on the policy

(VOVworld) – While implementing the development of its new rural program, the northern province of Quang Ninh has focused on promoting cooperation between the State, businesses, scientists, and producers to ensure outlets for agricultural produce. The cooperation model in Quang Yen town has benefited farmers and boosted the new rural areas movement.

(VOVworld) – The successes achieved in 3 years of implementing the National Target Program on building new rural areas are largely due to the contributions of the Vietnam Farmers’ Association at all levels. With over 10 million members, 10,500 branches, and 93,000 local units, the Vietnam Farmers’ Association plays a leading role in boosting scientific and technological application and technical transfer to farmers.

(VOVworld) - Bao Thang district is located in the center of Lao Cai province. Over the past 2 years, the local villagers have been participating in the new rural development program. The district has exercised democracy and received the public support to building new rural areas. People in Bao Thang district are conscious of their central role in this program. Hundreds of thousands of square meters of donated land and tens of thousands of donated man hours are vivid evidence of the people’s involvement.

(VOVworld) – Building new rural areas is an important task of the Central Highlands provinces. With the motto “people are the essence of the new rural program”, the Central Highlands provinces have mobilized the people’s strength in combination with local advantages to make significant changes.

(VOVworld) – Thuan Loi is a remote commune in Dong Phu district, in the southern province of Binh Phuoc. 50% of its population is made up of people from ethnic minorities. The area was seriously ravaged during the war. Now, the ethnic people are united in their desire to build prosperous new rural areas.

(VOVworld) – After 3 years of implementing the new rural development program, Ho Chi Minh city has 2 communes - Tan Thong Hoi and Thai My in Cu Chi district – both achieving all 19 new rural criteria. Cu Chi district, which was a one of the most fierce battlefields in the wars, has become a model for building rural areas on the outskirt of Ho Chi Minh city.

(VOVworld) – Two years of implementing Vietnam’s new rural areas program have brought positive changes to the villages of the Cham ethnic people in the southern province of Ninh Thuan. New houses have been built; roads have been expanded and paved; and canals have been upgraded. New apple and grapefruit orchards are boosting local incomes.
