(VOVworld) – Dong Tho commune in Thai Binh province has completed several new rural criteria thank to local people’s active response. They have worked together to upgrade rural roads, which is one of the most important criteria in new rural development.

(VOVworld) – The national target program to build new rural areas has boosted the industrialization and modernization process in Vietnam’s countryside.

(VOVworld) – The implementation of the new rural development program has improved the countryside in many parts of Vietnam. The Thuy Huong flower and bonsai tree cooperative in Chuong My district on the outskirt of Hanoi has been a successful model, contributing positively to local development.

(VOVworld) – Developing craft villages is one of the principal ways Vietnam is restructuring its rural economy. The craft villages generate jobs for local people, earn extra income, and support the implementation of the new rural development program.

(VOVworld) – The working atmosphere in Sin Cheng commune, Simacai district in Lao Cai province has never been as busy as recently. Everyone has actively participated in the program to build new rural areas. They donate land, money, and workdays to build rural roads and public works.

(VOVworld) –Villagers of hamlet 6, Quang Thinh commune in Quang Ninh province now can enjoy better transportation thanks to a new 400-meter-cement-road which has been put into operation. Quang Thinh commune has been targeted to have basically completed the criteria for new rural development by 2015.

(VOVworld) – Quang Binh province selected 6 communes in 6 districts to pilot the national program for building new rural areas. Local people have actively become involved in the program, and feel a high sense of responsibility.

(VOVworld) – Ethnic minority people in Son La province have developed community-based tourism by promoting local cultural values and traditions. Hum hamlet of Thai ethnic minority people in Chieng Xom commune, Son La city, is an example.

(VOVworld) – Building new rural areas is a major initiative of the State. After three years, the program has achieved many important results. The implementation has also revealed some problems including old ways of thinking and working. Adjustments and a more suitable approach will be needed to fulfill the program’s criteria.
