(VOVworld) – Soc Trang province has piloted the new rural development program in 22 isolated communes of the Khmer ethnic minority people where the infrastructure remains poor. After three years of implementation, 300 public works have been built to support people develop production, reduce poverty, and imrpove the hamlets.

(VOVworld) – After three years of implementing the National Target Program on building new rural areas, Vietnam’s countryside has been changed for the better and people’s living standards have been improved.

(VOVworld) – The national Target Program on building new rural areas considers the people as the implementer and the beneficiary. In order to create consensus and encourage people’s involvement in the program, communications and mass mobilization work is a significant task. The authority of Phuoc Huu commune, Ninh Thuan province has organized mass mobilization groups in hamlets to encourage the people to implement new rural criteria.

(VOVworld) – Xuan Lanh commune in Dong Xuan district, Phu Yen province, has been developing toward a modern socio-economic infrastructure and appropriate production models. Since the beginning of this year, the commune has invested in upgrading its water supply and rural roads and adopting new varieties of animals and high-yield plants.

(VOVworld) – Bac Son commune in the northern province of Quang Ninh is actively involved in the new rural areas program. Although they live in a mountainous border commune with lots of problems, local authorities and residents have taken advantage of available opportunities for rural development.

(VOVworld) – Besides the military tasks required for national defense, border soldiers in Nam Dinh province have actively and effectively engaged in the local program of building new rural areas.

(VOVworld) – Two years ago, the southern province of Tra Vinh piloted the new rural development program in My Long Nam commune and then replicated the model to 17 other communes. So far, they have fulfilled almost all of the new rural criteria and improved the rural infrastructure.

(VOvworld) – The keys to building new rural areas are effective use of investment resources, the involvement of the community, and competent officials. In remote mountain communes, the need for competent officials has been a crucial issue.

(VOVworld) – After 3 years of implementing the Government’s decision on new rural areas development planning, 75% of the communes nationwide have completed their planning projects. But the implementation in some localities has not met the requirements. It’s necessary to review the planning and mobilize the participation of the entire political system and people to obtain the best efficiency.
