(VOVWORLD) - Every year when spring arrives, flower villages throughout Vietnam turn colorful and fragrant. And crowds of people come to take photos.

(VOVWORLD) - Vietnam successfully made COVID-19 test kits to international standards last April. Now it is producing the first made-in-Vietnam vaccine against the coronavirus, which is in human trials on Vietnamese.

(VOVWORLD) - Backward attitudes, lack of education, and poor infrastructure make life even more difficult for people with disabilities in Vietnam. But progress is being made, thanks to their efforts to help themselves and the help they get from relatives and social organizations. The decisive factor is the determination and perseverance of a disabled person to fight through their physical impairment and society’s prejudices to become successful.

(VOVWORLD) - In Vietnam people with disabilities and their families are generally poorer than most. They have fewer employment opportunities and less access to social services. Inequality still exists in living standards, societal attitudes, and integration into society. But progress is being made, thanks to determined disabled people and support from the government and social organizations.

(VOVWORLD) - Over the past 3 months, the ambulance operated by Do Quoc Minh Trieu and his friends in the Central Highlands province of Lam Dong, has provided free service to patients in financial difficulty. This has inspired other volunteers in the community.

(VOVWORLD) - Vietnam has joined the ranks of countries with high human development, according to the 2020 Human Development Report recently released by the UN Development Program. The report said the Human Development Index (HDI) decreased 16.5% last year due to inequality, while income decline due to inequality was 19.1%.

(VOVWORLD) - Rapid adaptation to market trends and close coordination with exporters have enabled many farmers in the Central Highlands province of Gia Lai to move away from traditional production toward methods more in line with global health, environment, and export standards.

(VOVWORLD) - Tug-of-war rituals and folk games were honored by UNESCO in 2015 as an intangible cultural heritage of humanity, a multi-national project of Vietnam, the Republic of Korea, Cambodia, and the Philippines.

(VOVWORLD) - Dam Thuy border station is located in Cao Bang border province’s Trung Khanh district, which is famous for its revolutionary tradition and tourist attractions. The border guard force has ably protected the border and national security and contributed greatly to the local economy, providing a firm backbone for ethnic minority people in the district.

(VOVWORLD) - The Health Ministry’s ongoing telehealth project has helped people in remote isolated areas access quality health care services. Using IT and modern medical equipment, doctors at upper-level hospitals can remotely examine and diagnose people in their home or at medical stations at the grassroots level.
