The event marks a new step forward in efforts to promote economic, trade and investment relations between localities of Vietnam and Australia.
Speaking at the ceremony, Jackie Jarvis, Minister for Agriculture and Food; Fisheries; Forestry; Small Business; and Mid West, highlighted the strong potential for economic cooperation between Western Australia and Vietnam. She said the Western Australian administration is planning to send a trade promotion delegation to Vietnam by the end of this year to seek cooperation in key sectors such as agriculture, energy and services.
Canning Deputy Mayor Mark Bain said Vietnam-Australia relations are thriving, particularly at the local level. He expressed confidence that the Chamber of Commerce and Industry will provide additional momentum for Australian businesses to access the Vietnamese market.
Vietnam’s Consul General in Perth Nguyen Thanh Ha said that the Chamber will be an important platform for businesses from both countries to partner and exchange information. She pledged to continue supporting business connectivity initiatives, working closely with NAVCCI and relevant organizations to further strengthen trade, investment and innovation between Vietnam and Western Australia.
