(VOVWORLD) - An exhibition entitled "Sword Lake: East-West Intersection" has opened in downtown Hanoi, depicting how Vietnam’s capital changed from the late 19th to the early 20th centuries, The exhibition features 22 landscape drawings and over 100 pictures and documents from National Archives Centre, showing Hanoi’s transition from Oriental toward European, from traditional toward modern.

(VOVWORLD) - People’s Artist Director Dang Nhat Minh hassecured the Grand Prize at the annual Bui Xuan Phai- For the Love of Hanoi Awards for his films about Hanoi and its inhabitants. Minh’s works capture the capital city from different angles at different times.

(VOVWORLD) - Three decades ago, the Complex of Hue Monuments was the first in Vietnam recognized by UNESCO as a World Cultural Heritage. The complex is now one of the heritages that have been best preserved.

(VOVWORLD) - 80 landscape paintings of different styles, materials, and colors are on display at the exhibition “Our country” to mark the 78th anniversary of Vietnam’s August Revolution and National Day. Those heritages are likely to permanently disappear if no prompt actions are taken.

Concerned that traditional musical instruments might disappear, artisans in Phu Xuyen district, Hanoi, are preserving and promoting the performance of "Bat am" (eight musical instruments).

Over the years, Thua Thien-Hue provincial authorities, together with artisans and artists have made an effort to preserve and promote this music genre.
