The event celebrates a visit made by President HCM on this date back in 1959 with a festival that is capped off with dragon boat races.
The race also marks the opening day of the fishing season on the island.
A total of four teams compete in the race this year.

The race shows the toughness of the teams due to the need for endurance, as well as their ability to work together to overcome the waves and master their boat as a group.
Each team consists of a total of 31 racers.
The 3-km race is very intense, with rowers ferociously competing on each meter of water.
Phu Long team comes first in the race. The team has won the championship title 20 times over 27 editions of the traditional race.
