Quang Ninh has done well in tourism based on natural heritages. However, most sightseeing tours of local islands and caves involve nothing more exciting than taking photos. To diversify visitors’ experience, Quang Ninh has piloted some new tourism products that include art performances and live-action shows in the caves.
Nguyen Quang Son, a representative of the Ngoc Rong Cave Company, which organizes art shows at Hang Doi cave of the Vung Duc historical and scenic site in Cam Pha city, said: “We’re working with travel companies to market to international customers. When tourists come here, there should be activities for them to experience. Caves alone have been the attraction, but now we need add-on services. We want to create jobs for local people and make them proud of their caves.”
Companies like Ngoc Rong Cave Company want to make the most of the cultural, historical, religious, architectural, artistic, and natural values associated with the caves.

Quang Ninh province hopes that the new approach will encourage visitors to stay longer as it aims to welcome 20 million visitors this year, including 4.5 million foreigners.
