(VOVworld) – A program was conducted from August 24 to August 28 to provide free eye examinations, treatment, and surgery for poor people and war veterans in Laos’ capital Vientiane. The program, which is held every 2 years over the past 8 years, was organized by the War Veterans’ Associations of Vientiane and Vietnam’s HCM city, the HCM city Eye Hospital, and Vietinbank.

(VOVworld) – The Radio Technology Center has produced a bust of President Ho Chi Minh to mark the Voice of Vietnam’s 70th anniversary on September 7. The statue was cast from red copper, extracted from radiator panels of used electronic vacuum tubes.

(VOVworld) – The translation of the Tale of Kieu by Nguyen Du into foreign languages has never been an easy task. Up to present, the Tale of Kieu has been translated into 20 languages and is available for readers in many countries and territories around the world. VOV’s Phuong Thuy reports…

(VOVworld) – “The tale of Kieu” by famous Vietnamese poet Nguyen Du has been adapted to several genres including Cheo popular theater and Tuong classical opera. A memorable scene featuring a jealous lady from “The tale of Kieu” has been adapted for a Cheo performance in Chuong village, Tan Phong district, Hai Duong province as part of activities to honor Nguyen Du on his 250th birthday.
