(VOVWORLD) - The Ho Chi Minh trail, a military supply route running from North Vietnam through Laos and Cambodia to South Vietnam, was opened in 1959. Until the end of the Ho Chi Minh campaign that led to Vietnam’s reunification in 1975, VOV war correspondents accompanied soldiers along the trail, reporting the events they witnessed. Meanwhile, VOV radio broadcasts furnished the soldiers’ “food for thought” and connected them with the world outside the jungles during those years of hardship.
