(VOVWORLD) - When the rice is about to be harvested, the Tay people in Tuyen Quang province hold a festival celebrating pounded com (young sticky rice). The village is filled with the scent of grilled young sticky rice, the sound of people pounding rice in mortars, and cheerful voices and laughter.

(VOVWORLD) - After transplanting rice seedlings, the Tay and Nung ethnic minority people organize a ceremony to thank the buffalos for helping them plow rice fields. It’s also a special family get-together of the Tay and Nung in the northern provinces of Cao Bang, Bac Kan, and Lang Son.

The houses show the traditional construction techniques of the Mong to adapt to the rugged terrain and harsh climate found on high mountains.
