The Project on marine aquaculture development to 2030 with a vision to 2045 was approved by the Prime Minister to shift from traditional methods of catching and farming to high-tech industrial scale.
Tran Dinh Luan, Head of the Directorate of Fisheries, said marine farming models have recorded initial successes with a number of export products earning revenue of 100 million USD.
“We have to apply new methods to raise new varieties suiting the sector’s strategy and market demand. Marine farming needs to select appropriate investment models and facilities such as barges, feeding machines, monitoring systems, feed production plants, and production areas. It’s necessary to organize professional and complete chain connectivity,” said Mr. Luan.
