(VOVWORLD) - Athletics is one of the key sports that could bag gold medals for Vietnam team at the Southeast Asian Games (Seagames). The athletes aim to win between 10 and 12 gold medals at upcoming 19th Seagames to be held in Malaysia from August 19 to 31.

(VOVWORLD) - In 2006 newborn Thien Nhan was abandoned by his teenage mother in a deserted park in Quang Nam province for three days. The baby’s right leg and genitals were taken by wild animals. Tran Mai Anh, a young mother of two living in Hanoi, adopted him when he was two years old. She took him to many doctors in Vietnam and abroad for reconstructive surgery. Later a fund called the Thien Nhan and Friends Fund was set up to support disadvantaged and disabled children. Last year the Fund, in collaboration with the Kim Dong Publishing House, created a competition called “Drawing a fairy tale”. This event was so successful that it has been repeated this year throughout Vietnam.

But many schools in the Ninh Kieu district of Can Tho city don’t teach Khmer because there are too few Khmer students, so local Khmer families were pleased when Munirangsyaram Pagoda began offering Khmer classes for children. (VOVWORLD) -The S&A Academy is a youth football training center, the result of a wonderful friendship between Doan Hoang Son and Apisit Kaikaew, former players of the national teams of Vietnam and Thailand respectively. The academy’s two stadiums in Ho Chi Minh City and a center in Bangkok opened their first training course in April last year.
