Fernandez said Cuban authorities have been in contact with the US State Department and Coast Guard and will seek information from Washington on the individuals involved, the vessel, and other relevant details through existing bilateral mechanisms. He reiterated Cuba’s “absolute and categorical” commitment to combating all forms of terrorism.
Minister Fernandez said Cuba’s counterterrorism efforts are fully in line with international law and are a central part of national defense, aimed at protecting Cuba’s sovereignty and the lives, security, and well-being of its people.
