French Ambassador to Vietnam Olivier Brochet said France will provide 1.75 billion USD in public financing for Vietnam’s climate-related projects in the 2020-2030 period. The funding includes 585 million USD under the Just Energy Transition Partnership (JETP).

In a video message presented at the event, UN Resident Coordinator in Vietnam Pauline Tamesis said that the UN stands ready to support Vietnam in implementing its climate-action roadmap, particularly the Nationally Determined Contribution for the 2026–2035 period, by developing a portfolio of projects eligible for financing from JETP and other global climate funds, including the Green Climate Fund and the Loss and Damage Fund.

EU Ambassador to Vietnam Julien Guerrier told the event that the EU is ready, through JETP, to mobilize large-scale resources to help Vietnam succeed in its energy transition and ensure energy security.
At the 2nd Global Gateway Forum in Belgium in October, the European Union announced a support package worth 500 million USD to advance the Bac Ai pumped-storage hydropower project, one of Vietnam’s key projects under the Just Energy Transition Partnership (JETP). This will enable Vietnam to integrate more solar and wind power sources into the national grid.
