The forum themed "Go Global - Conquer the international market" was organized by the Ministry of Industry and Trade in coordination with the Swiss Government’s projects. It said that in the first 10 months of this year, Vietnam’s trade surplus was nearly 20 billion USD and import-export turnover reached over 760 billion USD, up 17% over the same period last year.
Vu Ba Phu, Director of the Trade Promotion Department at the Ministry of Industry and Trade, said a national trade promotion plan for the period 2026-2030 defines five orientations. They include promoting trade by industry clusters; promoting green transformation and sustainable standards; and forming a digital trade promotion ecosystem.
The other orientations are building a national export identity, systematizing the image of Vietnamese goods in the international market coupled with the Vietnam Value brand program; and implementing the "Go Global" program, selecting enterprises with international competitiveness to lead satellite business ecosystem to reach out to the world.
“Based on the Politburo’s Resolution 68 on developing the private economic sector, the Ministry of Industry and Trade is completing the "Program to Reach Out to the International Market for the 2026-2035 period (Go Global)". It aims to support businesses in internationalization, develop leading businesses, complete the value chain and expand the markets. A trade promotion ecosystem will be built with a vision to 2030 and the following years,” Phu said.
The Ministry of Industry and Trade will also continue to implement key groups of solutions for exports, which are diversifying markets; effectively utilizing Free Trade Agreements (FTAs); developing a modern national trade promotion network with a clear coordination mechanism; and reforming the national trade promotion program.
