Launched last October as part of Vietnam-Japan Innovation Nexus Day, the program is a strategic collaboration between the National Innovation Center (NIC), Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), Boston Consulting Group (BCG), and the Embassy of Japan.
Over three months, startups received intensive 1:1 mentorship from 26 global experts to refine their business models and commercialize tech solutions for sectors like healthcare, manufacturing, and F&B.
Eight Memorandums of Understanding (MOU) were signed between startups and corporate partners, reflecting the high market readiness of the participants to tackle real-world industry challenges.
Kobayashi Yosuke, Chief Representative of JICA Vietnam Office, said that VietLeap program was launched with a specific purpose: to foster a stronger, more globally competitive AI startup ecosystem in Vietnam.
“AI is moving rapidly from experimentation to deployment across many sectors, and Vietnam has outstanding potential - talent, ambition, and a dynamic digital economy,” said Yosuke, adding, “VietLeap was designed to respond to these realities by helping startups strengthen their solutions, sharpen their business models, and become partnership-ready so that innovation can move from promising prototypes to real-world impact.”
VietLeap Demo Day serves as a vital platform for knowledge transfer and technological cooperation, helping Vietnamese AI technology improve its competitive edge on the global stage.
