(VOVworld)- An official welcome ceremony for French President Francois Hollande took place on the morning of September 6 at the Presidential Palace in Hanoi.

On September 5, France’s President Francois Hollande began a three-day visit to Vietnam at the invitation of Vietnamese President Tran Dai Quang


The visit aims to further strengthen strategic partnership between the two countries

The visit is to concretize the strategic partnership that Vietnam and France signed in 2013 and to clarify directions of cooperation in politics-diplomacy, security-defense, trade-investment, science-technology, and education-training.

This is the first visit to Vietnam by a French president after 12 years since President Jacques Chirac’s visit in 2004


During President Hollande’s visit, both leaders will discuss a score of measures to speed up the implementation of important signed agreements covering a variety of fields

The two presidents review the guard of honour


They will witness the signing of key documents and host a press briefing


During his visit, President Hollande will hold talks with President Tran Dai Quang and meet with leaders of the Vietnamese Party, government, and National Assembly
