(VOV) - Radio the Voice of Vietnam (VOV) and Japan’s NHK will strengthen cooperation in many fields to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties between the two countries next year. The two media agencies should increase cooperation in the exchange of their broadcasts and human resource training, while concretising their 2004 cooperation agreement to deepen bilateral ties. The proposal was made by VOV Director General Nguyen Dang Tien at a reception in Tokyo on April 12 given by NHK Vice President, Naoji Ono.

The National Radio Festival is a biennial activity of Vietnam’s broadcasting industry. It aims to honor outstanding radio broadcasters and products nationwide. It is an opportunity for broadcasters to cooperate and share professional experience and skills and learn more about modern information communication technology in Vietnam and the world.

Youth Union from Radio the Voice of Vietnam’s Overseas Service (VOV5) and Editorial Secretariat Department in coordination with Dao San Border Guard Station in the northwestern province of Lai Chau on January 7th organized a ceremony to present gifts and scholarships to poor households and pupils in Tung Qua Lin commune in Phong Tho district.

The Cau Ngu or Whale worshipping festival is one of many special events for people living on the coast in Hai Thanh commune in central Dong hoi city. The festival reflects people’s desire for peace on the sea.

Radio the Voice of Vietnam and the Lao National Radio are making further efforts to strengthen and develop tradional relationship.
