The team of four athletes Nguyen Xuan Quang, Vu Ngoc Khanh, Tran Nhat Hoang and Tran Dinh Son, finished second in 3 minutes 06 seconds 20, just behind the Indian team with 3 minutes 05 seconds 58. They broke the national record of 3 minutes 07 seconds 40, set by the Vietnamese team at the 2017 Southeast Asian Games in Malaysia.
As the tournament closed on Sunday, the Vietnamese athletics team won a total of three silver medals (men's 4x400m relay, women's 4x100m relay, and women's 4x400m relay) and one bronze medal.
