Vietnam’s luxury cruise ship Star Voyager, operated by the StarCruises Group, recently departed from Phu My port in Ho Chi Minh City,

With a gross tonnage of 77,400, a capacity of 2,000 passengers, and 972 cabins, the Star Voyager is like a floating five-star hotel. Renovated from the iconic Pacific Explorer, the vessel blends classic romantic aesthetics with modern comforts tailored to the tastes of Asian travelers. Onboard amenities include an outdoor swimming pool, a spa, Asian-European restaurants, a theater, duty-free shopping, and rooms for seminars and events.

Doan Ngoc Tung, Vice President of the UNESCO Hanoi Travel Club, says the Star Voyager has great potential to attract more travelers.

Tung said: “This is a distinctive cruise product. Its flawless service, professional accommodation, cuisine, entertainment, and 24/7 onboard events offer guests a new kind of retreat, an exclusive leisure space, entirely separate from the mainland.”

In the past, Vietnamese tourists had to transit through a foreign port. Now they can embark on a luxury sea voyage from Vietnam.

Truong Quoc Hung, Chairman of the UNESCO Hanoi Travel Club, said: “This is completely different from traditional tours. We’re not just following global trends. We’re restructuring our tourism offerings to carry Vietnamese travelers to the world and bring international visitors to Vietnam by ship.”

The launch of the five-star Star Voyager cruise from Vietnam to Singapore is a strategic breakthrough that positions Vietnam as a point of departure for international cruise travelers as well as a destination.
