Before the New Year’s celebration, companies have seen a sharp increase in booking demand for short, easy itineraries, a positive signal at the start of the year-end peak tourism season and the lead-up to Tet, the Lunar New Year. Outbound tourists tend to choose destinations in northeast or southeast Asia.
Tran Phuong Linh, Director of Marketing and IT at BenThanh Tourist, said, “The tourism market during this year’s New Year holiday is more dynamic than in previous years. Some destinations have attracted early bookings, especially trips to northern Vietnam and some destinations in northeast Asia and Europe. BenThanh Tourist has seen bookings increase 15 to 20%.”
According to many travel companies, there’s a trend to visit destinations that offer natural beauty, indigenous culture, and folk festivals. Some travelers are willing to spend more on customized itineraries.
